New York City is rich in Church history. Join us for a walking tour of numerous sites in 20th and 21st century Church history in the City, sites which mostly happen to be on West 57th Street. Learn about the anti-Mormon riot at Carnegie Hall, where Minerva Teichert and other famous LDS artists studied in Manhattan, how the historic New York Stake was organized, the amazing history of the Lincoln Square building, and how it became a Temple, and other stories of our modern New York City Church history. Saturday, September 11, 9AM. The tour takes about an hour, and will end at the new LDS arts galley in the Lincoln Square building. Meet in front of 9 West 57th Street by the entrance marked "8 1/2."
Everyone is invited, but we would especially welcome those who might be interested in learning the tour so that we can continue this tradition.
[Please note that this tour covers a different route (along 57th Street) and covers a different time period (20th Century) than the tour the Relief Society is sponsoring on Saturday, September 18th.]
