Giving Machines at Rockefeller Center
November 30, 2021 through January 2, 2022
We are pleased to announce that the Giving Machines have once again returned to New York City as part of the annual Light of the World effort organized by The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints to benefit local and international charities.
This year, the Giving Machines are located at the historic Rockefeller Center in the center of New York City (adjacent to Free People, 10 W 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza) across from the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and ice rink.
A “Giving Machine” is a vending machine to select personalized donations to benefit individuals locally or around the world. With the swipe of a credit card and the push of a button, passersby can select to donate one of more than 30 items ranging in value from $5 to $250. Local charities that are benefited by the campaign include the Mariano Rivera Foundation, the Actors Fund, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York and The New York Board of Rabbis. International charities participating include UNICEF, CARE and WaterAid.
We invite you to visit the Giving Machines as part of your Christmastime celebrations this year. Stop by with your families, friends, youth groups and other fellow members. Plan to visit as part of your next temple trip. When you visit make sure to take a picture and post it on social media using the hashtag #GivingMachinesNYC.
We are also looking for volunteers throughout the holiday season who can help staff the Giving Machines for 2-4 hour shifts. Volunteers help visitors make donations, restock items as needed, and most importantly help people feel the Light of Christ through service.
